makes films, plays cricket or baseball, or worked for the Provisional IRA. And there are at least 3 other academics with the same name!

I AM the John Stephenson who:


 

* was born in Barrow-in-Furness
* went to Barrow Grammar School (50-57) and LSE (57-60)
* worked at Harold Hill Grammar (61-66) and Buckhurst Hill High (67 - 69)
* spent 19 years in North East London Polytechnic (69-88)
* headed the School for Independent Study at NELP (78 - 88)
* was director of RSA's HE for Capability (HEC) project (1988-1998)
* chaired the World Education Fellowship international committee (90-95)
* headed the International Centre for Learner Managed Learning (ICLML) at Middlesex University (97-05)
* was Head of Learning for the set-up of UfI/learndirect (98-00)

 

and who also



* stood for MP(Labour) Feb 74, Oct 74 Bury St Edmonds; May 79 Upminster
* lived in Barrow, Romford, Blackmore, Brentwood, Ilkley, Southgate and Bath
* grows vines as am amateur winemaker (unsuccessfully so far)
* travels a lot


 
and is a consultant and writer on:
